Create an event

Churches have many events throughout the day, week, month, and year. To keep staff and congregants informed about all these events happening on your campuses, create events in Calendar with schedules, rooms, and resources.

You can add events if you have creator permissions or higher in Calendar.

  1. Select the Events page in the top navigation.

  2. Select New event in the top right.

  3. Enter your new event's details in the pop-up:

    • Event name: Enter your event's name in the Event name field.

    • Event owner: Use the dropdown next to the Event name field to choose an event owner. This person receives all communication regarding the event.

    • Event date: Choose when your event takes place by setting a start and end time/date.

      • To create a recurring event, select a frequency setting from the Does not repeat dropdown. Use the second dropdown that appears to choose whether your recurring event should end on a specific date or after a set number of occurrences.

        Tip

        Select Custom to add a custom recurrence pattern, such as "Repeat every week on Mondays and Wednesdays."

      • Check the All-day box if the event spans the entirety of each selected day.

    • Event template: Choose an event template from the dropdown to help keep your settings consistent across similar events.Event Templates

    • Calendar: If you have multiple calendars in your organization, choose which calendar this event belongs to.

    • Public description: Add an event description that appears in iCal feeds and kiosks.

    • Location: Set your event's location. You can choose one of the campuses from your account settings, set a Custom location, or add a Virtual (link) location.

    • Church Center: Choose whether the event should be Unpublished, Published, or Featured in Church Center.

    • Tags: Add applicable tags to your event. If you have required tag groups, you must select a tag from each required group before saving the event.

  4. (Optional) Select Save to finish creating your event without adding rooms or resources.

  5. If you need to create additional times or request rooms and resources, select More options to edit your new event.

  6. Select Save for this date to apply your changes.
