Set up the service order

Plan pages hold the songs, media, and service elements you want to include for your service. Set up your plans with an order of service, including songs and media that people can access from the plan.

There are four different types of plan items you can add to an order of service:

  • Item: You can use regular plan items to describe elements that happen before, during, or after your service (e.g., "Pre-Service Prayer," "Announcements," or "Benediction").

  • Header: Use headers to organize different sections of your service (e.g., "Worship Set" or "Communion").

  • Song: These items are linked to songs from your Songs page. Adding a song item makes any files from the linked song page available on the plan.

  • Media: These items are linked to media from your Media page. Adding a media item makes any files attached to the linked media page available on the plan.

Important

People with editor permissions and above can add and edit plan items from the order of service.

Add a regular plan item or header

Add regular plan items and headers to describe different elements of your service.

Add a song or media item

Add items that are linked to songs and media in your library so the corresponding files are available on your plan.

  1. Select the Plans page in the top navigation.

  2. If you have multiple folders, select the folder that contains the service type you're working with.

  3. Select a plan from the service type you're working with.

  4. Select the Order tab at the top of the plan page.

  5. Select the Add button in the top right corner.

  6. Select Songs or Media from the dropdown, or drag one of the item types into your desired place in the service order.

  7. Select a song or media title from the list to add it to the plan, or use the search bar and Filter options to find a specific item.

    If you're adding a song item, you can select the [Key] box to choose a different key or arrangement before selecting the song title.

  8. Edit the song or media item's details in the sidebar that appears.

    Important

    When adding a song item on the web, notes are automatically copied from the song's last scheduled plan.

  9. (Optional) Select Add leader in the Song leader/Item leader section to assign a position or a specific team member from the plan to lead this item. If you choose a position, everyone scheduled for that position on this plan will be assigned as the item leader.

    Select the X next to a team member's name to unassign them from this item.

  10. Select the X to close the Edit song/Edit media sidebar and finish adding your item.

  11. After adding your items, you can reorder them in the plan by selecting and dragging them to the desired position.

  1. Select the Plans page in the bottom navigation.

  2. If you have multiple folders, select the folder that contains the service type you're working with.

  3. Select a plan from the service type you're working with.

  4. Select the Order tab at the top of the plan page.

  5. Tap the ➕ plus icon in the bottom right corner.

  6. Select Songs or Media from the options that appear, or drag one of the item types into your desired place in the service order.

  7. Select a title from the list to add it to the plan, or use the search and + Filter options to find a specific item.

    If you're adding a song item, select the arrangement you'd like to use for this plan.

    Important

    When adding a song item on mobile, a popup appears asking whether you'd like to import notes and information from the song's last scheduled plan.

  8. Edit the song or media item's details.

  9. Tap the ✅ green check mark in the top right to finish adding your item.

  10. After adding your items, you can reorder them in the plan by selecting and dragging them to the desired position.

Now that the order of service is set, you can add a series title and art, add times, and schedule your people to the plan.

Plan item shortcuts

On Services web, you can also quickly add an item by selecting the Add Item field at the bottom of your service order and typing in your item name.

Delete item.

  • Length: Type the length in "0:00" format before or after the item title. When you hit enter, it is added to the item's length field.

  • Song search: Type s and then space.

  • Media search: Type m and then space.

  • Headers: Type h and then space.

  • Drag: If you want to add multiple items higher up in your plan, drag the quick add row up before you start adding, and all new items will be created in that position.

Clear the order of service

Administrators can remove all items within a plan's order of service, including headers, items, songs, and media. This feature is only available on Services web.

  1. Select the Plans page in the top navigation.

  2. If you have multiple folders, select the folder that contains the service type you're working with.

  3. Select the plan you want to edit from the service type you're working with.

  4. Select the Actions button in the top right.

  5. Choose Clear order from the dropdown.

  6. Select Yes, delete all items to confirm that you want to permanently delete all of the plan's items.
