Set up the SongSelect® by CCLI integration

In this section:

The SongSelect® by CCLI integration lets you import lyrics and chord charts from your SongSelect® account into Services. A paid SongSelect® account is required.

Only song administrators can enable the SongSelect® integration, but once it's enabled, any song editor can import SongSelect® files into arrangements. Song editors can check integration settings, but not turn the integration on or off.

Warning

SongSelect® requires activity every 60 days to keep the integration enabled. If SongSelect® hasn't been used for 60 days, the integration is disabled and must be manually re-enabled.

What does SongSelect® consider as activity? Good question! Using the All Songs tab to search the CCLI database or importing a CCLI file both count as activity.

Enable the SongSelect® integration

Important

You must have song administrator permissions to enable the integration.

  1. Select the Songs page from the top navigation in Services.

  2. Select the Actions button in the top right.

  3. Choose Song File Integrations from the dropdown.

  4. Under SongSelect®, select Set up.

  5. Review SongSelect®'s End User License Agreement and select I agree, continue.

  6. Enter your CCLI username and password on the CCLI login page.

  7. Select Sign In.

  8. Select the Allow button to link the accounts. You'll then be taken back to Planning Center, where you'll receive confirmation that the integration was successful.

Import SongSelect® files into a new song

You can import SongSelect® files when adding a new song using Services on a web browser.

  1. Select the Songs page from the top navigation in Services.

  2. Select Add a song in the top right.

  3. Search for an existing song from the MultiTracks or CCLI database, or create a new song.

    • Choose the Popular Recordings tab to search the MultiTracks database by song title or artist. Choose a song's album art to determine if it is the recorded version you want.

      Tip

When you choose a song from the Popular Recordings list, the information for the selected arrangement is automatically filled out.

    • Choose the All Songs tab to search the CCLI SongSelect® database by title, artist, or CCLI#.

    • To create your own song, enter the song's name and select Create a new song: [title] at the bottom of the results list.

  4. Enter the song's details, such as arrangement name, keys, and tags.

  5. Scroll down to the SongSelect® section below "Select files to import."

  6. Check the boxes next to the types of files you want to import:

    • ChordPro® (Editable): If an editable chord chart is available for the song, you can import it into the Lyrics & Chords editor. This creates a transposed chord chart in all arrangement keys that matches any changes you make in the editor.

      Important

The ChordPro® (Editable) option is only available if your SongSelect® subscription includes ChordPro® files.

    • ChordSheet PDF: Import a non-editable PDF chord chart in the selected key.

Choose to import the 1-Column Layout, 2-Column Layout, or both. Use the dropdowns next to each layout to choose a chart style (Standard, Number, Do-Re-Mi Fixed, or Do-Re-Mi Movable).

    • Lyrics: If there are no lyrics in the Lyrics & Chords editor yet, you can import lyrics as plain text.

  7. Select Submit to go to the newly created arrangement.

  • Token Failed or Token Revoked: These errors typically happen when your login information for SongSelect® has changed.

  • Copy Limit Exceeded: SongSelect® subscriptions allow only a certain number of chord charts to be downloaded or printed each year, called your copy limit. Every time you add a chord chart from SongSelect® to your Services, that is one copy toward your copy limit.

  • Permission Denied: This could be an issue with your login, subscription level change, or copy limit.

  • Chart Not Available: The chord chart is unavailable within SongSelect® or exists within SongSelect® but has not been made available to Services.

If your error doesn't match any of the above, contact Planning Center Support to look into the error.
