Import a template or plan

Import into an existing plan

You can import a template while working in a plan's Order tab or the Teams tab, depending on which aspect of the service you're editing.

Select the Plans page in the top navigation.
If you have multiple folders, select the folder that contains the service type you're working with.
Select a plan from the service type you're working with.
Select the Order tab or the Teams tab at the top of the plan page.
If you're on the Order tab, select the Add button in the top right of the service order.
If you're on the Teams tab, select the Team actions button in the top right.
Select Import template from the dropdown to open the Import popup.
Select a template or a recent plan from the dropdown.
In the Include section, check the boxes next to any elements you want to include in the import. You can only select elements that exist on the template or plan you're importing.
- Items: Include all plan items from the template or the plan's service order.
- Notes: Include plan notes from the template or plan.
- Teams: Select any team(s) you want to include from the template or plan. You can select the My button to select only the teams you lead, or select All to include all teams from this template.
In the Import To section, check the boxes next to any additional plans where you'd like to import this plan or template. The plan you're viewing is automatically selected.
Select Submit to import the template or plan.

Important

Templates aren't linked to plans, so editing a template will not update the information in any plans where it was previously imported.

When you import a template into an existing plan or export a plan or template to an existing plan, the plan is affected as follows:

The information that you import from the template only adds to the plan. Existing plan items will not be erased or overwritten.
Tip
If you want to replace your current plan items with updated ones, clear the service order first before importing your new template!
If needed positions exist in both the template and plan, the highest number of positions is used in the plan.
Each imported person will fill the needed positions in the plan that aren't in the template. For example, if you have four needed positions in the plan for the band, and the template has one person scheduled for the band, that person will be scheduled to the plan, and there will be three needed positions.
Importing a person does not change the person's status in the plan.
If a position was assigned as the item leader for any plan items on the template, anyone scheduled for that position on the plan will be automatically assigned as the item leader or song leader.
