Manage your online donation form
Online donations are received through your online donation form found on Church Center. Customize what's available to donors during the donation process, including adding a memo and covering the processing fee, inside Giving.
Set up your online donation form
Select the Manage page in the top navigation in Giving.
Select the Donation form tab on the left.
Check the Accept credit card donations box to allow donors to give via credit card. Leave the box unchecked to turn off credit card donations. Debit card donations cannot be disabled.
If a donor selects a saved credit card or enters a new one, they will see a warning message encouraging them to add a bank account or debit card instead.
Check the Display a campus selector box to add a campus dropdown to the online donation form. When enabled, campus information will be collected with all donations received online.
If a donor is logged in to Church Center on the web and has a primary campus assigned to their profile, or is using the Church Center app for a specific campus, the field will default to that location. If a donor's primary campus is not set or they are not logged in, they will be required to select a campus from the dropdown. Check out Use Giving for multi-campus churches for more information about campuses in Giving.
Check the Enable express giving for donors to allow donors to give via Apple Pay or Google Pay without logging in. For more information, check out the Express giving section below.
Check the Allow donors to cover the processing fees on the donation form box to allow donors to cover the fee associated with their online donation. For more details, check out the Cover the fee article.
Check the Allow donors to include a memo box to allow donors to include a note about their donation while donating online or through batches.
Check the boxes next to each fund for which you'd like to enable a memo line. This allows a note to be attached to donations, such as the name of the person the donation is in memory of.
Select Customize disclaimer in the Memo field disclaimer box to include your own text on the donation form. Keep in mind that the text in your disclaimer can help protect tax eligibility for your donations.
Select Apply custom disclaimer to save your changes.
If you previously added a custom disclaimer, select Restore suggested disclaimer to return to the default text.
Select Save in the top right to apply any changes.
How does express giving work?
When express giving is enabled, Apple Pay or Google Pay wallet buttons appear on the donation form's first page for donors who aren’t logged in. This allows donors to give quickly without logging in or having an account by using payment details already saved on their device!
Important
Google Pay is only available when express giving on Church Center using a web browser. It is not currently supported in the Church Center app.
When someone donates through express giving, Planning Center uses the name and email address from the donor's device wallet to match the gift to the correct, existing Planning Center profile whenever possible.
If a matching profile already exists, the donation will be linked to that profile automatically.
If a matching profile doesn't exist, a new profile will be created, and the donation will be recorded there.
If a duplicate profile is created due to a name or email mismatch, you can merge the profiles in People.
It is important to note that donors who use express giving will not see an option to cover the fee. Express giving is designed to provide a faster checkout experience for donors by allowing them to donate without logging in. Because they skip logging in, donors won't see the Payments page where the cover the fee option normally appears.

How do memo lines work?
Administrators can add a memo line to funds on a fund-by-fund basis. This allows administrators, bookkeepers, or counters to add memos to donations in batches, and donors to include a note about their donation while donating on Church Center. Memos can be helpful for donations made in memory of a specific person or any special projects that require more details.
When a memo line is enabled for a fund, a text box is added to the online donation form or batch entry, allowing a note to be included with a donation.
Important
Memos are attached to a donation as a whole. Donations split across multiple funds will include a memo line if at least one fund is eligible for a memo.
Where are memos seen?
Memos added to donations appear in various places throughout Giving and Church Center:
The donation's overview page in Giving.
The Recurring tab on a donor's profile in Giving.
As a field in exports in Giving.
A donor's donation history on Church Center.
The Planned giving tab on the My giving page on Church Center.
Important
Memos added to donations will not appear on a donation receipt. Instead, receipts will include A memo was provided for this donation under the chosen fund. Additionally, memos are not included on donor statements. This helps ensure that a donation maintains its tax-deductible eligibility.
