Transpose chord charts

See also:

When you create charts in the Lyrics & Chords editor, they are automatically transposed to any key (or capo key) you've added to the song page. You can also quickly transpose chord charts on Music Stand for iOS or Android.

Create charts in the editor

You can create charts in the editor in the following ways:

  • Type them from scratch.

  • Copy and paste them from somewhere else on the internet.

  • Import editable chord charts from SongSelect by selecting the ChordPro® (Editable) option when adding files through the SongSelect integration.

  • Buy editable chord charts from PraiseCharts and import them through the PraiseCharts integration.

After entering or importing the chart into the editor, a chart is created in every key. Charts created in the editor will have Chord Chart in [Key] as the file name.

If you selected the Number, Numeral, and/or Lyrics options in the Create PDFs section of the editor, the arrangement section will also include a lyric PDF and number/numeral charts.

Transpose on a plan

When your team members access charts created in the editor, they can change the chord to any key, numbers, or just lyrics.

  1. Select the Plans page in the top navigation.

  2. If you have multiple folders, select the folder that contains the service type you're working with.

  3. Select a plan from the service type you're working with.

  4. Select the Order tab.

  5. Select a song item to open the Edit song sidebar.

  6. Select the Files tab.

  7. Hover over a file and select the ♩music note icon (to the right of the ✏️ edit icon).

    Important

If you don't see this icon, the chord chart wasn't created in the Lyrics & Chords editor.

  8. Choose a key, or select Numbers or Numerals to download the corresponding chart.
