Set up a podcast feed

If you're already uploading audio files when adding sermon episodes, use those to start a new podcast feed on Apple or Spotify. This is a great way to release your weekly sermons in a podcast, share bible study episodes, and more!

Important

It's not currently possible to pull audio from an existing Apple or Spotify podcast into your sermon channel.

Set up a new podcast feed

To set up a new podcast feed, you must first enter a church email on the Church Information page in account settings. This email address doesn't have to match your AppleConnect or Spotify account email, but it will be the email address listed in the Apple or Spotify podcast directory.

Once a church email is entered in your account settings, you can follow the steps below to start your podcast.

  1. Create a Spotify Creators and/or an Apple Podcasts Connect account.

  2. Follow AppleConnect's or Spotify's instructions to create a podcast episode.

  3. When asked for an RSS link, copy and paste the URL from the Podcast feed URL box in your channel settings in Publishing.

  4. Once you've set up your podcast, copy the Spotify or Apple podcast feed URL and paste it into the Third-party podcast directory field URLs field in your channel settings. This allows the podcast to be displayed in Church Center.

Edit podcast settings

  1. Select Content from the top navigation in Publishing.

  2. Select the Sermons tab from the top of the page.

  3. Select the channel.

  4. Select the Settings tab.

  5. Scroll down to the Audio podcast settings section. (This is only available if you selected Podcast when you set up the format.)

  6. Select Upload image to add artwork from your device, your saved library in Publishing, or the Unsplash integration. Use the image sizing guide to upload the correct file type and size.

  7. Copy the URL in the Podcast Feed URL box. You'll need this URL when setting up your podcast feed in Apple or Spotify.

  8. Once your podcast is set up in Apple or Spotify, paste the directory-specific URL from them into the box(es) in the Third-party podcast directory feed URLs section.

  9. Enter a title for your podcast.

  10. Select a category and subcategory for your podcast that will appear on Apple or Spotify.

  11. Select your podcast's language and whether or not the podcast may contain explicit material. This will also appear on Apple or Spotify.

  12. Enter the podcast author's name.

  13. Enter the podcast's contact email address.
