Link accounts from multiple churches
If you’re a part of multiple churches, linking your accounts makes it easy to access your profiles with a single login. By linking accounts, you can:
Switch between churches without having to log in more than once.
View all Services schedules on a single screen.
Update your contact information at one time and save it to all your profiles.
Any accounts you want to link must have the same first and last name, login method, and password. To use a single login for all of your accounts, you must:
Update profile information and login method
You can edit your profile information to ensure it matches across all your accounts.
From your profile in any product, select the Actions button in the top right.
Select the Edit profile button.
Edit your first and last name to be the same for each of the accounts you want to link.
Select the Save button.
Tip
If you prefer to be called by a nickname, enter it as your First Name in your accounts. If you need your legal name to be noted in any of them, add it in the Given Name field, and it won't affect your login!
Change login method
In addition to your first and last name, you must have the same login methods for each profile you'd like to link.
From any page in Planning Center, select your profile picture or initials in the top right corner.
Select the My login settings button.
Select Edit login.
Enter and confirm the email or phone number you'd like to use to log in.
Select the Save button.
Reset your password
When choosing a new password, make it long and unique to Planning Center. Using a long password is the most effective way to improve your password strength.
To further protect your account, consider setting up two-step verification.
Tip
If you encounter an error while resetting your password, clear your cookies and cache, and follow the steps above again. Do not copy and paste any information because doing so can insert hidden characters!
Go to the login page.
Select the Need a password? button.
On the Password Reset page, enter the email address or phone number you use to log in to Planning Center.
Select Send Code.
Once you receive the verification code, enter it on the Password Reset page.
Select Continue.
For accounts with two-step verification enabled, select the Update password for this account button and enter the code sent to your verification device.
For accounts without two-step verification enabled, check the box next to the accounts you'd like to reset the password for. If your email address or phone number is shared with other people, only check the boxes with your name.
Enter and confirm your new password.
Select the Set password button.
Select your profile picture or initials in the top right corner of the page.
Select My login settings.
Select Begin reset on the Change password line.
Enter the code that was sent to your login method.
Select Continue.
For accounts with two-step verification enabled, select the Update password for this account button and enter the code sent to your verification device.
For accounts without two-step verification enabled, check the box next to the accounts you'd like to reset the password for and select Update password for selected accounts. If your email address or phone number is shared with other people, only check the boxes with your name.
Enter and confirm your new password.
Select the Set password button.
Planning Center has not been hacked, and there is no evidence that your Planning Center account has been compromised.
However, while logging in, a security check identified that the email and password combination you've used is on a publicly available list for hackers because of a data breach from another website.
To reduce risk to your Planning Center database and your personal data, you must immediately follow the steps above to reset your password.
Link accounts
Once you have confirmed that your first name, last name, login method, and password match on all accounts, you can link them!
Go to the Login page.
Enter your login method and password.
On the Choose an organization page, select Link these accounts under the Linkable Accounts section.
Select Log in next to the account you'd like to view.
Warning
Accounts with two-step verification already enabled can only be linked if they share the same recovery code. If you are unable to link accounts that have two-step verification enabled, first turn off two-step verification. Then, link the accounts and enable two-step verification again.
Switching between accounts
After your accounts are linked, you can switch between accounts from any page in Planning Center.
Select the name of the church you are currently viewing in the top right corner of the top bar.
Select the name of the church you want to view in the dropdown.
In the Linked accounts dropdown, choose unlink to instantly unlink your accounts and remain logged in to the one you’re currently viewing. If two-step verification is enabled, it will need to be deactivated first to unlink your accounts. If you change your mind, you can re-link the accounts when logging in again.
Accounts can become unlinked when:
Your first or last name is changed.
An email address that was used across multiple profiles is removed.
An administrator merges your user profile in a way that changes your name or email address.
Your user profile is deleted within the organization entirely.
If this happens, contact your administrator for assistance in updating your profile. After all accounts match, you can link them again by resetting your password.
When you are scheduled for multiple churches, your My Schedule page shows which church is associated with which commitment.
When scheduled for the account you're not viewing, you'll see the account name above the plan card. If you are scheduled in one account, it will indicate a conflict in the other church.
Blockout dates, however, can be specified for one church or all linked churches.
Tip
If you link your accounts, Services generates conflicts for the linked churches. They will only see the conflict when trying to schedule you for a time you're already scheduled in another church; the conflict is not shown elsewhere.
