Two-step verification
Keep your church's database safe by setting up two-step verification. With two-step verification activated, each time you log in with your password you'll be sent a code via text message, email, or your authenticator app to verify that you're the one logging in.
Activate two-step verification
You can activate two-step verification from any Planning Center product.
Select your profile picture or initials from the toolbar in the top right corner of the page.
Select My login settings.
Select the Enable two-step button in the Two-step verification section.
Choose how you'd like to receive your security codes on the Two-Step Verification page. The method you choose must be different than your usual login method:
Authenticator app: If you have an application like Google Authenticator, Authy, Duo Mobile, or Microsoft Authenticator on your device, you can use one of those apps to generate a code.
Text message: If you log in to Planning Center using your email address, you can receive your two-step verification code via text message.
Email: If you log in to Planning Center using a phone number, you can receive your two-step verification code via email.
Follow the directions to set up your code delivery method and receive a one-time code that will verify you're the one logging in. Once you've confirmed the code, two-step verification will be activated for your profile!
Adding a two-step verification device will log you out of all active sessions on any linked accounts on other devices.
Tip
The last page of the verification process has your emergency backup code. Store this code in a secure place in case you lose the device used to receive your security code.
How two-step verification works with linked accounts
To enable two-step verification for multiple accounts at once, ensure the accounts are linked first. Once the accounts are linked, enable two-step verification following the steps above.
Accounts with two-step verification already enabled can only be linked if they share the same recovery code . If you are unable to link accounts that have two-step verification enabled, first turn off two-step verification. Then, link the accounts and enable two-step verification again.
Remove two-step verification
Select your profile picture or initials from the toolbar in the top right corner of the page.
Select My login settings.
Select the Remove device button on the Two-step verification line.
Enter the code sent to your device.
Select Remove verification device to confirm you'd like to remove two-step verification.
