Enable the Mailchimp integration

Mailchimp is a marketing platform with tools to help you send email campaigns using a Planning Center People list. With Mailchimp, your church can build custom, stylized email campaigns to connect with the people in your congregation. Mailchimp has a free plan and offers discounts for registered nonprofits. Important

Only one Mailchimp account and one audience can be connected to your Planning Center organization.

Connect to Mailchimp

To connect to Mailchimp, you must already have a Mailchimp account with manager permissions or higher.

  1. From account settings, select the Organization page from the top navigation.

  2. Select the Integrations tab in the left sidebar.

  3. Select the Add-ons tab.

  4. Search or scroll until you find the Mailchimp box.

  5. Select the Connect button.

  6. Enter your Mailchimp username and password. 

  7. Select Log In.

  8. Read the authorization information and select the Allow button.

  9. Choose your Mailchimp audience. You can select any audience you have created in Mailchimp.

  10. Select Save.

Once you connect to Mailchimp, you can send an email to a list of people from Planning Center People. 

Warning

While Mailchimp has a texting feature, this integration does not include phone number data. It will only sync the first name, last name, and email address.

Change your Mailchimp audience

You can change the Mailchimp audience that your Planning Center People list goes to in account settings. 

  1. In account settings, select the Organization page from the top navigation.

  2. Select the Integrations tab in the left sidebar.

  3. Select the Add-ons tab.

  4. Search or scroll until you find the Mailchimp box.

  5. Select the Change audience button.

  6. In the popup, use the dropdown to choose the new audience.

  7. Select Save.

Disconnect Mailchimp

The Mailchimp integration can be disconnected from Planning Center's account settings at any time.

  1. In account settings, select the Organization page from the top navigation.

  2. Select the Integrations tab in the left sidebar.

  3. Select the Add-ons tab.

  4. Search or scroll until you find the Mailchimp box.

  5. Select the Disconnect button.

  6. In the popup, confirm you want to disconnect by selecting the Disconnect from Mailchimp button.
