Set up Church Center in People
When setting up Church Center, you decide which fields are shown in a congregant's profile and whether they can update those fields themselves. You can also enable the directory, an invite-only space where congregants can safely share their contact information with other congregants.
Important
Only organization administrators or People managers can set up the directory, configure the contact information settings, and invite people.
Manage profile settings
Select the People page from the top navigation.
Select the ⚙️ settings icon in the top right of the page.
Choose Church Center settings from the dropdown.
If your church has multiple campuses, you'll see the Automated campus updates section. Choose how the campus should be updated on a profile when someone logs in to the Church Center app; that update will show on the Activity tab of their profile.
In the Congregant profile permissions section, you can manage the following settings:
Households: When toggled on, a person can add or remove household members in Church Center.
Built-in profile fields: Select the ✏️ edit icon next to a field to choose whether the field can be edited, added if blank, or set to view only in Church Center.
Custom profile fields: Select the Add field button to add a new field, or the ✏️ edit icon next to an existing field and choose which Custom Tab and Field to pull the info from, and whether the field can be edited, added if blank, or set to view only in Church Center. A limit of 20 custom profile fields can be added. Select Add section header to break your custom fields into subsections and add a description.
Enable and manage the directory
Select the People page from the top navigation.
Select the ⚙️ settings icon in the top right of the page.
Choose Church Center settings from the dropdown.
In the Directory settings section, you can manage the following settings:
Enable church directory: Toggle the directory on and off.
Sharing: Use the checkboxes in this section to enable which fields you'd like people to include in the directory. While they can include these enabled options, their name is the only required field. People can log in to Church Center at any time to customize or remove what information they prefer to share.
Advanced settings: Select Advanced settings to toggle Privacy mode on or off. This setting protects congregants against scams by replacing visible contact information with a Contact button, and is on by default.

Once you enable the directory, you can do the following:
Add the directory to your Church Center navigation menu.
Select the Church Center dropdown to verify that both the Church Center web version and mobile app are enabled.
Use the Visit directory link to view the directory in the Church Center web version. Only congregants who were invited and shared their information will be shown. Don't forget to invite yourself!
