Manually track background checks
Planning Center provides an integration with Checkr so you can perform background checks within Planning Center. However, if you have background checks from other providers or need to track background checks for people under 18, you can manually track them in Planning Center by following the steps below.
For individuals
Select the People page from the top navigation.
Select the person's name from the list to open their profile.
Select the badge/shield icon in the top right corner.
Choose Add background check from the dropdown.
Set the background check status, completion date, expiration date, and a note, such as a link to the background check report in the Manual background check popup.
Select Create.
For multiple people
Add a manual background check for multiple people at once using a bulk action or automation. Set the same background check status, completion date, expiration date, and note for everyone you select with the bulk action tool, or add an automation or perform a bulk action on your People list.
Monitor for expired background checks
When someone's background check expires, they can no longer be scheduled through Services or check in as a volunteer to a background check-required location at Check-Ins. Create a list that shows when background checks will expire and request background checks for multiple people when they expire.
Background checks can't be run on people under 18. For them to serve on a Secure Team or check into a background check-required volunteer location, set up a manual background check for them and set the Expiration field to On their 18th birthday.
When they turn 18, the background check status expires, allowing you to run a background check on them.
Important
This option is unavailable when creating background checks through a bulk action or automation. It can only be done when creating a background check on a person's profile.
